Ancient Books Room is not only an integral part of a college Library, but also the backbone for conducting researches on three ancient-related subjects (ancient literature, ancient history, ancient bibliogra-phy).And the room construction also has three goals. From the aspect of collection development, we should pur-sue the aims that the bookshelves are fully stocked with classics and the Ancient Books Room is full of the fra-grance of these volumes. We should tally with a standard that the ancient books are comprehensive, delicate, special and convenientt. From the aspect of environment construction, we are aiming at a quaint environment. The Room should be furnished with well-designed bookshelves, bookcases, tables, chairs and other specially arranged ornaments, and background music to create an academic and antique atmosphere. From the aspect of reader service, kind-hearted librarians are needed to offer the readers warm, considerate service.

Departing from the needs of the appraisal work of the ancient books version, ancient books’ prefaces and postscripts can be divided into:prefaces and postscripts for writing a book, academic evaluation on the prefaces and postscripts, the version of textual preface and postscript and inscribed textual version of prefaces and postscripts. In the identification process for the ancient version, these four prefaces and postscripts can play different roles. Wherein the publication of the prefaces and postscripts are the most direct and powerful evidence to determine the version.

The work of collection and collation of ancient minority medical texts began in the 1980s.Some ancient minority medical texts are collected in the past catalog books,including mainly those of Tibetan medicine,Mongolian medicine and Uighur medicine.However,no comprehensive catalog works reflecting the total situation of ancient minority medical texts appeared so far.Unlike its counterpart in traditional Chinese medicine in which the advantages of its experiences can be taken,the catalog works of ancient minority medical texts have their own characteristics.Naturally,there are some new problems in the process of our editing works.For examples,the definition of "ancient medical texts of ethnic minorities",the usage of minority writing character and Chinese writing character during its collecting procedures,the classification of ancient medical texts of ethnic minorities,the ethnic belonging of minority medical texts,etc.

中医古籍存世数量巨大,其中不乏珍稀版本,目前主要收藏于中医专业图书馆。由于技术力量不足、馆藏条件有限、管理措施不到位等原因,中医古籍馆藏状况堪忧,对其抢救保护和开发利用迫在眉睫。整理著录工作需要进一步修订补充,保护修复工作的广度和深度有待于进一步扩展。加强中医古籍专业人才培养,加强馆藏条件建设,建立国内中医藏书机构古籍保护体系十分必要。对古籍进行再生性保护,构建中医古籍数据管理与共享体系,可在更好保护中医古籍的基础之上实现其有效利用。
There are a huge amount of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) ancient books, which are mainly collected in TCM libraries, including some rare versions. However, because of weak technical strength, terrible collection situation and poor management measures, the reserved TCM ancient books are under undesirable situation and the protection and exploitation are vitally important. Restoration of bibliographic description needs further revision and protection and restoration of TCM ancient books should be expanded. It is necessary to establish collection organization protection system through reinforcement of training of professional talents on TCM ancient books and enhancement of library construction. Regeneration of ancient books could be realized by digitization data management and sharing system, which could make full use of these ancient books and protect them.
