Some characters’dialogues of The Terminal are analyzed from the perspective of pragmatic theories, in?cluding cooperative principle and conversational implicature, with the purpose of mining the deep meaning and philosophical im?plication behind the dialogues. Thus, a new perspective can be provided for a better and fuller understanding and appreciation of the meaning of the film.
