T he effects of diaphragm span and place of eccentrically concentrated load on the me-chanical behavior of steel cantilever box beams are conducted by self programming .The numeri-cal results show that the effect of section distortion on the longitudinal normal stress of thin-walled steel box column is obvious .When the mechanical behavior of thin-walled steel box col-umn without diaphragms is investigated ,the effect of section distortion is not negligible .It is al-so found that while the mechanical behavior of thin-walled steel box column with diaphragms is analyzed ,the effects of diaphragms on the mechanical behavior of steel cantilever box beams un-der torsional force should be extremely discussed .Finally ,a simplified analysis method is pro-posed to study the mechanical behavior of steel cantilever box beams under eccentrically concen-trated load .

The overall lifting erection method is used in the construction of the side span of Qingzhou channel bridge and the non‐navigation bridge in deep water district and a large number of segments of steel box girder are needed to transport by barge to construction site which are super long and overweighted ,and the navigation area has complex conditions ,and all these lead to the local stress of steel box girder and limit structures in an unfa‐vorable state. In the tests of 2 two-span continuous concrete partially filled steel box beams (CCPFSBB) and a two-span continuous steel box beam (CSBB) subjected two forces, the deformation and failure pattern of the beams were studied.The results showed that the elastic loading capacity and ultimate loading capacity of CCPFSBB model were 45%and 90%larger than those of CSBB model respectively, and the ductility also increased about 8 times.Non-linear FEA of the mechanical behavior of the CCPFSBB was conducted with ANSYS.The an-alytic results agreed with the test results, and the analytic FEM model was verified.The par-ametric analysis was carried out using the FEA model.The results showed that the optimal effect on improving the capacity was increasing the flange plate thickness.
