Along with the deepening research concerning resources and environment problems, the application of geological drilling technology has been increasingly wide, so higher skill requirements is needed for drillers. Highly skilled drillers play an important role in the core competitiveness of units which have drilling qualiifcation. Therefore, it is a matter of great urgency to integrate drillers into classiifcation standard of geological drilling qualiifcation. This paper points out that at present, in terms of legal dimensions, practical level, or talent pool; we have the conditions and base for integrating drillers into classiifcation standard of geological drilling qualiifcation, and for carrying out the post-holding certiifcate system of drillers. These means that we should worker faster to revise classiifcation and grading standard of geological prospecting qualiifcation, set the requirements for drilling workers according to the requirements of the geological exploration technology

The engineering practice and the comparison test show that no circulation media core drilling has disadvantages of low effi-ciency, high cost, unstable core quality and high labor intensity in weathering residual formations;but with auger drilling technology, the drilling quality of design requirement by specification can be satisfied with lower cost and higher drilling ef-ficiency, the drilling efficiency is 6.77 times that of core drilling and the comprehensive construction efficiency is 3.5 times that of the core drilling.
