the postcolonial literature has been kept misreading in the past decades. Postcolonialism has a close relation with colonialism and imperialism. The postcolonial literature is closely connected with colonial literature and colonialism literature, but it deconstructs them in some way. So the postcolonial literature should be seen as two models. They are a text interpretation by Edward Said and postcolonial critics for criticizing western centrism, and a trans-national or trans-regional literary text studied by Ashcroft for exploring their cultural relation from colonial legacy. It will be helpful for us to efficiently choose and study postcolonial literary texts.

In the postcolonial context ,translation is a strategy of decolonization ,which can resist cultural hegemony and reshape cultural identity .Based on the Postcolonial T ranslation T heory ,adopting case analysis ,the paper explores the translator ’ s subjectivity embodied in the postcolonial play T ranslations and its impact on the remodeling of Irish language and cultural identity in terms of the translator’s cultural identity ,source-text selection and translation strategies .This study broadens the scope of the study on translator’s subjectivity and provides a new theoretical perspective from w hich to interpret other postcolonial literary works .And also ,in the process of translating Chinese literary works , it can help to highlight its language ,cultural differences and elements so as to better disseminate externally Chinese outstanding literary and cultural heritage .
