To eliminate the influence of surface features is significant to the data's coherence in an atmospheric electric field detection network. In order to study the influence of surface features on atmospheric electric field near ground, protuber- ances on the ground (eg. buildings, plants etc. ) are modeled as regular cubes, cyl- inders and spheres, and the electric field around these geometries is calculated in theory and simulated with Ansoft Maxwell respectively. Analytic relational expres- sions of the influence with respect to the shapes, relative locations and sizes of the protuberances are found, and the correction parameters of various ground features are given. A correction approach is brought up, and its feasibility is verified by both calculation and simulation.

To improve the network data consistency and expand the field monitoring scope, the effect of altitude on electric field data and the existing problems in networking algorithm were discussed. An altitude correction method was proposed for atmospheric electric field data and the Kriging method used to networking, and the thunderstorm processes analyzed based on atmospheric electric field data in Nanjing from June to August 2010 , with the double monomer thunderstorm process comprehensively analysed. The results show that the altitude correction method can effectively improve the electric field network, and expand the monitoring scope of the electric field. Due to the dif-ferent levels of development of each thunderstorm, there are different charge structures of thunderstorm, resulting in an inconformity between the thunderstorm echo intensity and the electric field distribution, and the situation may e-ven be interchangeable.

In complex terrain, low wind speed region or the area lack of measured wind data, how to fnd rich wind resource region is very important for increasing profit of wind farm. For the lack of valid wind data in the early development of wind farm, based on traditional wind resource assessment system, we introduce atmospheric model to do mesoscale simulation on large scale region, and then integrate with high resolution terrain and roughness data based on the processing technique of remote sensing to do CFD downscaling simulation, build the double-core system of wind resource assessment with atmospheric model and CFD. Te advanced wind resource assessment system we built will satisfy the demands of wind power projects development in complex terrain and in low wind speed region;it also widen the method of wind resource assessment.

On June 23,2011,five sites including Xiqing Gate and the Arrow Station in the Palace Museum were struck by lightning.The weather condition and the characteristics of atmospheric electric field and lightning distribu-tion during the lightning stroke period are analyzed in detail utilizing the routine weather data,satellite data,radar echo data,the atmospheric electric field data as well as the lightning data.Then,on the basis of the field investiga-tion of lightning stroke in each place,the specific causes of lightning stroke and the weak link of lightning protection are analyzed.Aiming at these existent problems,the improvement suggestions are given. Especially,the small scale lightning monitoring and early warning measures are put forward.Thus the precise monitoring and warning measures will be implemented and the lightning protection of the Palace Museum will be improved.Some references are pro-vided for lightning monitoring & warning and the selection of lightning protection measure

The energy loss induced by electron collisions in weakly ionized air plasma is calculated based on the electron energy dis-tribution function that we obtained. Since there are a lot of low-energy-threshold molecular rotation and vibration excitations and the electron-molecule energy transfer is inefficient in elastic collision, the fraction of energy loss for electron elastic collision (less than 6%) is negligible. Among different collision processes the electron energy loss is dominant in different energy regions. As the effective electron temperature (or the reduced electric field) increases, the dominant energy loss process becomes sequentially rota-tional excitation, vibrational excitation, electronic excitation, collisional ionization, and accelerating ionized electrons. When E/N=1350 Td (or Te =14 eV), the average energy loss per ion-electron pair reaches a minimum value of 57 eV. With the purpose of the study on change rule of internal charge in soil specimens under differing circumstances ,dredger fill ,which was collected from Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone ,was studied in various parameters ,including the absence/presence of the applied DC electric field ,different levels of field strength ,soil water content ,soil compactness ,and degree of desalination .Moreover ,through tentatively simulating the electrical response between thundercloud and earth mass ,the triggered lightning mechanism of rock soil mass was explored .The results show that both additive electrical field and atmospheric electric field had influence over charge variation of soil ,the impact of which would become more significant with the increasing field strength .Higher soil water content and lower degree of desalination could enhance the charge variation and conductivity of soil ,whilst this action effect would remain stable when soil water content reached a certain degree .Although soil

Lightning is a discharge phenomena when electric charges gathered to a certain extent.Electric charges build up in thunder clouds,the atmosphere near the ground will be a corresponding induction electric field,so we can determine the stages of thunderstorm development through the pulse wave changes of atmospheric electric field and combining with radar echo data.This paper analyzes a lightning weather process from August 1 1 to 12 in 2010,which was the strongest process since the lightning location monitoring network of Shaanxi Province was built.During this process the lightning occurred 23,570 times in the whole province,and on August 11 the lightning occurred 14,470 times.The whole process dominated by negative flash and accompanied by heavy rainfall.Statistical analysis revealed that there was some corresponding relations between the lightning weather and atmospheric environment field.The occurrence of the heavy lightning storms was closely related to the Western Pacific subtropica

The paper summarizes the characteristics of corrosion of foundations for offshore wind turbines and the anticorro-sive measures in common use for offshore wind turbine foundations. The technology of anticorrosion coating in atmospheric zone where high weather sustainability is required and the technology of anticorrosion coating and wrapping in the splash and tidal zones where high corrosion resistance is required are analyzed and compared. It is then recommended that a corrosion protection design for an offshore wind turbine foundation should take into consideration the full life cycle of the foundation in its whole construction and operational duration,and relative design considerations are put forward for the reference for selec-tion of corrosion protection designs of offshore wind turbine fields.
