Different purposes of research on wind turbines cause different types of modeling methods, and these models can not share and unify the evaluation. Based on this, this paper proposes universal wind turbine modeling concept, and then divides the conventional wind turbine modeling into wind speed modeling, wind turbine modeling, generator modeling, electric control system modeling and model parameter specification. For every part, this paper tries to give a corresponding method to the universal modeling. Finally two evaluation directions are proposed, which are based on the manufacturing parameters or power grid operation data. Research on the wind power generator universal modeling technology has a certain significance both on the standardization of wind power generator modeling and analysis of the modern power system stability.
