Case study research and case method teaching are important tools for intelligence analysis research and teaching in intelligence studies and law enforcement intelligence. From the aspects of connotation, characteristics, procedures and essentials, the differences be-tween case study research and case method teaching are compared. It is argued that we should follow the basic rules of case research and teaching to strengthen localized case research and teaching of public security intelligence analysis, establish the theory of public security in-telligence analysis, innovate public security intelligence analysis methods, accelerate the construction of public security intelligence analysis case database, improve classroom case teaching quality, and promote the construction of standardization and institutionalization in case teaching evaluation. The ultimate goal is to continuously improve the ability and level of case study research and case method teaching of public security intelligence

In order to promote the teaching effect of mine ventilation course, case teaching method based on the actual project is introduced in the classroom teaching. According to principles of authenticity, integrity and typicality, the mine ventilation system optimization case was compiled, and applied to the teaching process through methods of case analysis, discussion, case summary and submitting case analysis report. Practice shows that teaching method based on the actual project case is helpful to improve the students'' enthusiasm and participation in class, and promoting the theoretical knowledge into use, effectively improving the teaching result.
