Switch-zoom optical system is composed of the subsystem with wide field of view and the subsystem with narrow field of view .Due to the errors from many aspects such as the re-fractive index of optical material ,the optical manufacturing and assembling ,the actual image surfaces of both subsystem deviate from their ideal image surfaces ,and the drifts are different , that is ,the two subsystems are not confocal .To solve the problem ,a variety of confocal de-sign schemes ,the selection principle and an optimal scheme w hich fixed long focus and adjus-ted short focus ,adjusted the compensating set for a mid-wave infrared (MWIR) switch-zoom optical system were given .

In this paper, the narcissus of short focal length system was analyzed. A method of dual aperture zoom system was propounded, and a dual aperture infrared optical system was designed. The focal length of this zoom system at 3.7-4.8μm was 30 mm、150 mm and 300 mm with a zoom ranger of 10:1, F-number of 4 and 100% cold efficiency. The narcissus between dual aperture and normal single aperture was analyzed and compared,and the narcissus of dual aperture can be controlled preferably. The dual aperture zoom system has good image quality, big zoom range, low narcissus of small focal lens and compact configuration, so it can be used in the high thermal imager widely.

Phase-Diverse Speckle (PDS) method integrates two image restoration methods of Phase Diversity (PD) and speckle imaging. PD method collects focused image and defocused image of known phase diverse at the same time, then target image is restored and wave-front phase is calculated. PDS technique extends PD by calculating the wave-front distortion of a series of short-expose frames to restore the images. Each frame is composed of two images with one in focus and the other defocus. To validate PDS method, experiments indoor and outdoor were carried out in the paper. The deformable mirror was used to simulate optics aberration in lab, and the single CCD collected focused image and defocused image at different time by shifting accurate translation stage. On the basics of a cool 320í240 detector with staring focal plane array, a large aperture off-axis catadioptric middle infrared continuous zoom system was designed. The system worked at 3.7-4.8 μm which achieved the zoom of 250 mm to 2 000 mm and F number of 4. The optical system was divided into two segments. Firstly, an off-axis aspheric non-power system as the front system was designed. Then the continuous zoom lens which matched with the non-power system as the back system was designed. Because of the material constraint, the refractive zoom system could not realize large aperture. Coaxal catadioptric zoom system had great block ratio. And three mirrors zoom system could not achieve cold shield efficiency 100%. The off-axis catadioptric zoom system cold account for forenamed limitation. The system cold offer a high resolution and excellent images, and its cold shield efficiency is 100%. The system satisfies the design requirements.

Based on the R-C system a cooled infrared swith-zoom optical system with long effective focal length is designed .The initial parameters are calculated and the components′focal power is deduced .Secondary im-aging structure is adopted , and relay lens is used to match the cold stop .Zoom is realized by switching the re-lay lens of the short focal length system and the long focal length system .The optimized design of optical sys-tem aberration is made .The optimized imaging results of the long effective focal length optical system and the short effective focal length optical system at different field of view are presented, and the modulation transfer functions within 0.8 field of view at 17 lp/mm of spatial frequency are greater than 0.4.Finally, correspond-ing precision analysis of the main structure is made and the results show that the structure is rational and the imaging quality is good .The optical system can meet actual requirement .

An infrared zoom optical system is designed based on the optical zoom theory, five aspheric surfaces and one diffractive surface are used to balance aberration. The focal plane array (FPA) detector is of 320 × 240 pixels and every pixel pitch is 25×25μm. The working waveband of this optical system is 8μm~12μm. The focal length is continu-ously changeable from 45 to 135 mm with variable F# from 0.98 to 0.85. The system consists of 4 groups, each of which with only one lens. Image quality of this system is evaluated with ZEMAX. The results show that the MTF in the whole focal range approaches diffraction limited at the frequency 20lp/mm.
