Objective To explore and implement distance medical education model based on the internet with Xinjiang characteristics. Methods Take advantage of remote communication technology broadband and satellite communication technologies, through four systems, the integration of theory resources, practice experience teaching, synthesized evaluation and interactive platforms, establish Tele-medicine teaching and learning model based on network. Results Distance medical education platform based on network with Xinjiang characteristic overcomes time and space limitations, making it possible that doctors at basic level can have an easy access to job training, learning new technology and new theories at home. Conclusions Remote network medical teaching model is fit for the regional characteristics of Xinjiang. It plays an active role for both students and teachers, particularly for study and work of doctors at primary level.
