Xiangke No.3 is a new navel orange cultivar selected from bud mutation of New Hall. Regional trials were conducted in the Southern, Central and Northern regions of Hunan Province. The results indicated that the fruit of Xiangke No.3 cultivar had consistently round shape and even size in different regions and in different years, with a fruit shape index value of 1.01; the cultivar was high-yielding and genetically stable; budburst, shoot growth and lfowering of this cultivar in the southern region occurred 2~10 d earlier than those in the central region, about 8~15 d earlier than those in the northern region, and 1~2 d earlier than those of control in each region; its fruit matured in mid November in all regions.

In the paper, we identified the physiological races of Plasmodiophora brassicae from twelve clubroot plants of four cruciferous crops, Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris ssp. chinensis), tuber mustard (Brassica juncea var. tumida), purple flowering stalk (Brassica campestris L. var. purpurea) and rapeseed (Brassica napus) in four different disease areas, Huaihua, Yiyang, Zhuzhou and Changsha, by using the Williams system. The results showed that there were race 1, 4, 9 and 13 in Chinese cabbage, race 1 in tuber mustard, race 4 and 9 in purple flowering stalk, and race 4 and 13 in rapeseed, and there were race 1 and 13 in Chinese cabbage and race 1 in tuber mustard in Huaihua, race 1 in purple flowering stalk in Yiyang, race 4 and 13 in rapeseed in Zhuzhou, and race 9 in both Chinese cabbage and purple flowering stalk in Changsha.

Basted on the daily maximum air temperature data from 82 stations in Hu’nan during 1961 -2013,the climatic characteris-tics of high temperature in Hu’nan were analyzed by using the statistical methods including trend analysis.The results show that the stations where annual average high temperature days,mean high temperature and maximum high temperature were greater than climate mean values distributed in the south region of eastern Hu’nan and the north area of central Hu’nan.Overall annual average high tem-perature stations and mean high temperature presented increasing trend in the whole province,and the high temperature stations ap-peared in the middle of July to the early of August and mean high temperature reached above 36 ℃and kept to the end of August.The distribution of high temperature maximum duration showed decreasing trend from the central Hu’nan to the surrounding areas.The spa-tial distribution of extremely continuous high temperature duration thresholds we
