A decision method based on rough sets is proposed for multi-attribute decision making, in which the attribute values are in the form of hesitant fuzzy elements. Firstly, the discernibility matrix is acquired according to the given threshold and the similarity degree between attribute values and ideal points. Then, the attribute reduction is operated and the weight of core attribute is determined by the discernibility matrix. Finally, the weighted similarity degree of every alternative with ideal points is displayed to rank all the alternatives. An example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

BACKGROUND:The most effective treatment of mandibular prognathism is orthodontic-orthognathic surgical treatment, but the postoperative relapse is the common complication that influences the surgical effects. Based on the individual integral cranio-maxilo-facial structure, Delaire cephalometric analysis can establish the ideal cranio-maxilo-facial structure that can be applied to design the operative schemes thereby promoting postoperative stability. OBJECTIVE:To analyze the stability and effect of orthognathic operations according to the schemes designed by Delaire cephalometric analysis. METHODS:Twenty mandibular prognathism patients were subjected to the orthognathic operations designed by Delaire cephalometric analysis, to analyze their lateral cephalometric radiographs before operations, 6-8 months after operations and 12-16 months after operations. Two key steps in multiple criteria decision analysis ( MCDA ) problem are the determination of weights with individual criteria and the selection of benchmark for distance function . In order to obtain criteria weights from the data and achieve consistent ranking ,a two-stage method for MCDA problem with weights information on objectives is presented .The general idea is to find a set of weights which produces the aggregate performance for all alternatives to be as close to the ideal point as possible ,and then proposes a measure of relative distance ,which involves the calculation of the relative membership grade matrix .
