HTA carbon fibers were electroplated Ni and electroless plated Ni on the surface,respectively.The size,morphology and quantity of Ni particle can be controlled by controlling time of plating Ni.The micro-structure of Ni coated carbon fibers were analyzed by SEM.It indicated that the growth pattern of the two types plated Ni was different,which electroplated Ni grew with particles and electroless plating Ni grew with lamellar structure.The elements of samples were studied by EDS.The results showed that the electroplating can obtain Ni elementary substance,but the eletroless plating can obtain NiP2 alloy particles on CF surface.

The study on iron materials with low content of nickel instead of electrolytic nickel and low-carbon ferrochromium in smelting molten steels for containers is carried out and thus the problem of resulfurization during smelting is solved. The study results show that electrolytic nickel and some of low-carbon ferrochromium materials can be replaced by iron materials with low con-tent of nickel in producing steel grades for containers and the cost is reduced by 85.71 RMB per ton steel. The product properties of all nickel-containing steel grades are not influenced after iron materials with low nickel are used in smelting molten steels for containers.

A series of nickel nanoparticles catalysts were prepared by using different precursors,nickel ni-trate,nickel acetate,nickel chloride,and nickel oxalate,and sodium dodecyl sulphonate as organic modifi-ers. Catalyst phase and the specific surface area of catalyst have been characterized by means of XRD and TEM. The activity of catalysts were studied for the hydrogenation of glucose to sorbitol. The results show that the size and structure of nickel nanoparticles were close relationship with nickel precursor. When the nickel chloride particles as precursor,the catalytic has smaller diameter and higher divergence,thereby improving the catalytic activity. The glucose can be 93. 9% converted with 90. 1% selectivity to sorbitol at 120 ℃ and 3. 5 MPa pressure,and it can be recycled 3~4 times with no loss of catalytic activity.

The effect of reduction temperature on the grain size of ferronickel in directly reducing laterite with rotary kiln was studied. The results show that the optimal reduction temperature is 1 360℃ when c/o ratio of briquette is 2, the reduction time is 3 h and the Cao/ore ratio of briquette is 7%. Based on the reducing conditions, the grain size of more than 80% ferronickel particles is greater than 1 mm. When the temperature is low, the slag viscosity is large, which lead to the bad transfer of mass and heat, so the grain of ferronickel is hard to grow up, and the recovery rate of ferronickel is decreased. When the temperature is too high, the reducing atmosphere is lower in the reaction system, so the grade and recovery rate of ferronickel become lower. Hence, the optimal reduction temperature is 1 360℃ considering the quality of ferronickel and saving energy.
